Safety Rules:

Closed-toed shoes are required to be thrown. No loose clothing, hoodies, or brimmed hats. High heels are prohibited (boots are OK)

No food or beverages in front of the safety line.

Spectators: Please stay at least 6 feet outside of the axe-throwing area.

How Mobile Axe Throwing Works at Your Event
The trailer arrives before your start time and opens into an enclosed throwing range with two lanes, a safety cage between the throwers and your guests, and a spectator area behind the line. Our instructors run the whole thing: they brief each group, demonstrate the throw, hand out the axes, call the throws and collect them afterwards. Nobody picks up an axe unsupervised at any point.
Guests throw in rotations rather than all at once, which is what makes it work as a party activity. Plan on roughly 30 throwers an hour across the lanes, with each person getting several throws and then cycling out for the next pair. For a party of 30 that means most of your guests can throw inside an hour. For a company picnic of 150, you want the trailer for three or four hours, or you want it paired with other attractions so the queue never builds.
Space, Ground and Setup Requirements
The trailer itself measures 23 feet long by 13 feet wide and stands 10 feet tall. Open and operating, you need a clear area of 25 feet long by 20 feet wide with 15 feet of overhead clearance. Check the height as carefully as the footprint tree limbs, gutter lines, banners and low wires are what usually rule out an otherwise good corner of a lot.
The ground should be reasonably level and firm. Grass, packed gravel and asphalt all work. A noticeable slope does not, because the throwing line and the target distance have to stay honest. We also need an unobstructed path wide enough to back the trailer into position, which for most venues means a driveway or a parking lot entrance rather than a garden gate. The trailer needs a standard electrical outlet within 50 feet of the setup area, so if your site has no power nearby, tell us when you book and we will plan for a generator.
Who Can Throw: Age, Footwear and Waivers
Throwers must be 12 or older, and anyone under 15 needs a parent or guardian on site. That is firm, and it is worth knowing early if you are planning a mixed-age family event, because it changes what you need for the younger half of your guest list. A bounce house or the trackless train alongside the trailer solves that in one booking, and it keeps the under-12s from queueing for something they cannot do.
Every thrower signs a waiver, and parents sign for minors. Closed-toe shoes are required boots are fine, high heels are not and loose clothing, hoodies and brimmed hats have to come off before throwing, because all three interfere with the release. Tell your guests this in the invitation rather than at the gate. The most common frustration at these events is a guest in sandals who drove an hour and cannot throw.
Staffing and Safety
Our staff are not optional on this rental, and that is the point of it. Each booking includes trained instructors who set up the range, brief every group, supervise every throw and control when anyone crosses the line to retrieve an axe. Staffing is required on all axe throwing bookings and the cost is added at checkout on top of the rental rate, so the figure you see on this page is the equipment and delivery, not the full total. Ask us for the all-in number when you check availability and we will give you one.
The range itself is enclosed, spectators stay well clear of the throwing area, and guests cannot bring their own axes or hatchets; our insurance prohibits it, without exception. For larger events where the trailer is one of several things running at once, an on-site event manager coordinates the whole program so your staff are not the ones directing traffic between attractions.
Axe Throwing for Corporate Events and Team Building
This is what the trailer gets booked for most often outside of birthdays. Axe throwing solves the problem every company picnic and team offsite has, which is that most activities either exclude people or embarrass them. Nobody at the office has done this before, so nobody arrives with an advantage, and the learning curve is short enough that people who insisted they were not going to throw are usually throwing by the second rotation.
It also runs well as a bracket. Instructors can score throws and run a simple tournament across departments or teams, which gives the event a shape and a finish rather than just an activity people drift past. Alcohol at Your Event
The question comes up on almost every corporate and brewery booking, so here is the straight answer. Guests cannot throw if they have been drinking, and our staff will turn away anyone who appears impaired. That is not a judgment call we enjoy making and it is not negotiable.
That does not mean your event has to be dry. The practical approach, and the one our regulars use, is to run the axe throwing first and open the bar afterwards, or to keep the bar at the opposite end of the site with the throwing range clearly separate. Plenty of breweries and company events have run it exactly this way. Tell us how your event is laid out when you book and our staff will work with it.
Rates and How Long to Book
Rates run $578 for the first hour, $788 for two hours, $987 for three and $1,177 for four, with staffing added at checkout. The first hour carries the delivery and setup, which is why each additional hour costs considerably less than the first going from two hours to four adds less than $400 and roughly doubles how many of your guests get to throw.
One hour works for a small party where you know your headcount. For anything above about 40 guests, two hours is the floor and three is more comfortable. Company picnics and festivals should be looking at four. If you are unsure, tell us your guest count and the length of your event and we will tell you honestly which tier you need rather than the one that costs more.
What Pairs Well with Axe Throwing
The trailer holds a queue, so the events that run best give people something to do while they wait. Concessions do most of that work popcorn and snow cones move a line along better than anything else and seating from our tents, tables and chairs range gives spectators somewhere to be, which matters more than people expect when half your guests are watching rather than throwing.
For evening events, event lighting around the queue and the seating area keeps the site usable after sunset without lighting the throwing lanes themselves. And if your venue has no power at all, we rent generators for the rest of your setup.

Booking, Weather and What Happens If It Rains
Weekend dates from April through October book out several weeks ahead, and there is one trailer. Graduation season in May and June and the fall festival run through October are the two windows that fill first.
Light rain is usually workable, since the throwing area is enclosed, but lightning is not and neither is a wind that makes the lanes unsafe.
