Old Glory Dry Inflatable Slide — 20' Patriotic Slide Rental in Virginia

Old Glory is the tallest slide in our dry fleet at a full 20 feet, wrapped in stars, stripes and a flag at the summit. What makes it genuinely useful, though, is what it doesn’t need: no hose, no splash pool, no drainage. That single difference is why it gets booked in October and November when a water slide is out of the question for Veterans Day programmes, autumn base family days, and first responder appreciation events where the weather has already turned. Riders climb 20 feet, drop down a single wide lane, and finish on a dry runout. See how it compares with the rest of the dry slide range.

Stars and Stripes Without the Water

Most patriotic inflatables are water slides, which locks them into roughly ten weeks of the calendar. Old Glory carries the same red, white and blue impact and works in any month we can safely anchor it. Practically, that means an event on a 55-degree Saturday in November gets the same centrepiece as a July picnic, with no wet grass, no towels and no soaked kids to get back into cars. If your date is genuinely mid-summer and you want the splash, our Merica giant water slide is the wet 20-footer to look at instead.

Events That Book Old Glory

Military unit and base family days, homecoming and deployment welcome-home parties, promotion and retirement ceremonies, first responder and police, fire and EMS appreciation events, VFW and American Legion post gatherings, Eagle Scout courts of honour and Scouting events, naturalisation and new-citizen celebrations, town Independence Day festivals and street fairs, HOA and neighbourhood block parties, school civics and history days, and corporate employee appreciation events.

Civic Dates Worth Booking Early

Demand on this unit clusters around Memorial Day weekend, Flag Day in mid-June, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Patriot Day on 11 September, Constitution Day, and Veterans Day on 11 November. The summer dates compete with every other rental in our inventory, so book those six to eight weeks out. The autumn dates are the interesting ones — because Old Glory runs dry, it’s often the only patriotic slide still available for September and November events, and those dates are usually still open a fortnight ahead.

Old Glory or Merica? Choosing Between the Two Patriotic 20-Footers

Both stand 20 feet tall and both are unmistakably American. Old Glory runs dry at $399 for four hours and works in any season, indoors or out, with no water supply. Merica runs wet at $499 and is the better pick for a hot July afternoon when guests have swimsuits and towels ready. If you want patriotic colours in a smaller footprint, the 16-foot Tidal Wave dry slide in blue is a gentler alternative, and for a bigger crowd the Tropical Double Lane trades height for two racing lanes.

Checking Your Site Before You Book

The unit is 40′ long × 17′ wide × 20′ tall, and we ask for a clear working area of roughly 50′ × 25′ with overhead clearance above the full height of the slide. Overhead is the constraint that catches people out on a slide this tall: branches, gutters, awnings, banner lines at festival sites and utility runs all need checking before the date. One dedicated electrical circuit runs the blower, and a standard exterior outlet handles most deliveries. For parade routes, park pavilions and open festival fields where power is uncertain, add our 3500-watt generator. Indoor setups are possible but rare you need a genuine 22-foot-plus ceiling, which rules out most school gymnasiums, so send us the venue details and we’ll confirm rather than guess.

Rider Management at Large Public Events

Public and community events behave differently from backyard parties: throughput is higher, the queue is longer, and there is usually no parent standing at the slide. One rider in the lane at a time is the rule that protects everyone, and it’s the first one to slip when a crowd builds. For festivals, base family days and any ticketed or open-to-the-public event, add a trained event attendant — we’d treat it as a requirement rather than an upsell at that scale.

Safety Standards and Documentation

Every unit is cleaned and sanitised at our Fredericksburg warehouse and inspected for seam, netting and blower condition before loading. On site, our crews anchor to manufacturer specification and brief whoever is supervising before we leave. Jump Around VA holds an Advanced Inflatable Safety Operations certification. We operate to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission guidance for inflatable amusement devices, including published wind limits, and commercial inflatables in Virginia also fall under the state’s amusement device regulations. Certificates of insurance and hold-harmless paperwork for school, municipal and installation venues are available on request.

Other Rentals for the Same Event

Community and appreciation events usually need more than one attraction. Most Old Glory bookings add tents, tables and chairs for shade and seating, an obstacle course for team games and field-day formats, a snow cone machine for the queue, and a bounce house or combo so younger children have something scaled to them while the older ones climb.

Check Old Glory's Availability

Four hours is $399, five hours is $439, and six hours is $479, with delivery, setup, anchoring and takedown included. We deliver from Fredericksburg and Stafford through Fairfax and across Northern Virginia and Richmond. Memorial Day and Independence Day weekends go first; if your date is a September or November civic event, you have more room, but the unit is still one of one.

Old Glory Dry Slide FAQs

How tall is the Old Glory slide?

Twenty feet — the tallest slide in our dry inventory. The full unit footprint is 40′ × 17′.

No. Old Glory is dry-only, which is why it books for autumn and cool-weather events as well as summer.

Around 50′ × 25′ of clear ground, plus overhead clearance above the full 20-foot height. Send us your setup spot and we’ll confirm fit.

Only in a venue with genuine 22-foot-plus ceiling height, which excludes most gyms and halls. Contact us with the venue and we’ll check.

Both are 20-foot patriotic slides. Old Glory runs dry at $399 and works year-round; Merica runs wet at $499 and is a summer unit.

Yes. Let us know the venue when you enquire and we’ll prepare the certificate of insurance and any hold-harmless paperwork in advance.

Six to eight weeks for Memorial Day and Independence Day weekends. Two to three weeks is usually enough for September and November dates.
